Finding the therapist that best suits your needs

About Me

Katelyn Prouty, M.S, LPC-IT

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Communication from Carroll University. My passion for trauma-informed care continues to guide my work, and I plan to complete training in EMDR therapy by the end of the year to deepen my ability to support clients navigating difficult experiences.

Before entering the clinical field, I worked in higher education admissions, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting people through major life transitions. I also gained valuable experience working at Rogers Behavioral Health in an adolescent residential unit, which solidified my passion for working with young people and those facing complex emotional challenges.

I’ve always felt drawn to supporting others—offering space, perspective, and encouragement when it's needed most. Counseling became my calling through this desire to help people recognize the strength they carry within themselves to pursue healing, growth, and their most meaningful goals.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m someone who finds joy in the simple things. I have a deep love for music, movies, and getting lost in a good book—especially stories that transport me to other worlds or explore the complexities of healing and human connection. I share my space (and my heart) with my cat, who keeps me grounded and entertained.

Whenever I can, I enjoy spending time in nature—whether it’s a quiet walk, a hike, or just breathing in fresh air. I also love a cozy board game night at home with friends or family. These moments of connection and play remind me of the importance of balance, laughter, and being present—values I bring into my therapeutic work as well.
